Summary Neanderthal disappeared approximately 25,000 to 30,000 years ago. Woolly vanished a few thousand years later. There were no catastrophic earthly acts of God during this time that could have singled out our cousin or done away with the prehistoric elephants. Ditto for extraterrestrial impacts and supernovas. So the alleged 'experts' are baffled. Unlike the arrogant paleontologists who know exactly how T-Rex died 65 million years ago, the anthropologists have no clue as to how Neanderthal and Woolly died only recently. Here I review the leading theories and the justifications offered by their most vocal proponents. We discover that when it comes to extinction there are no experts. The so-called 'experts' know as much as you do. What we need to do is wipe the slate clean and start over. We need a new theory of extinction, one that doesn't involve Man or disease or climate change or acts of God. Specifically, we need to consider an intrinsic mechanism that is common to all species irrespective of habitat. There is only one such agent, only one that can explain selectivity. This mechanism is now working on us like it worked on Neanderthal and Woolly and is the underlying cause of the upcoming extinction of our species.
